Purpose
Develop sweat fingerprints on porous surface, especially on a complex background.
Working principle
1,2-Indanedione reacts with the amino acids in the fingerprint to produce fluorescent orange fingerprint.

Method
Prepare 0.05-0.2% 1,2-Indanedione solution with acetone, ethanol or ethyl acetate.
Saturate the exhibitwith the solution or spray the solution onto the exhibit. After the solution volatilizes, put the exhibit in the 1,2-Indanedione fuming chamber. Heat the exhibit in a temperature of 100-120°C for 10 minutes to allow the full reaction of 1,2-Indanedione with the amino acid.
Then, take out the exhibitand expose it to 515nm or 530nm light, view the exhibit through an orange barrier filter, the fluorescent orange colored fingerprint can be seen.
